Easy Installation Steps For A New Bathroom Sink

Need a new bathroom sink? It helps to know what the process is, whether you plan to do it yourself or hire a bathroom contractor . Good news is, it’s as easy as 1-2-3. Here’s the proof:

Step 1:

You’ve removed the old bathroom sink and now you’re ready to install the new basin . After cleaning the gunk, secure the new sink with either metal clips or caulking.  For porcelain sinks, draw a bead of caulk around the edge of the sink, then lower it into the hole. Gravity will make it water tight.  If you have a metal sink it should come with a set of adjustable screw clips to lock it down. Once you’ve centered the sink, it’s time to attach the faucet.

Step 2:

The new faucet should require three main items for attachment to the basin. Make sure to use the proper washers and seals from the faucet kit, otherwise leaking may occur. You will need locking pliers or a crescent wrench to tighten nuts to both the water line intakes and the drain screen. Once that is accomplished you can attach the drain.

Step 3:

The drain serves as a conduit between the bottom of the sink and the beginning of the plumbing . At this point, you’ll need a helper to keep the drain, rubber gasket, and washer in place. On the top side of the sink, tighten the flange to the drain. Meanwhile, your helper is forcing pressure from the bottom side of the drain by pressing the rubber gasket and washer into the sink.
