Vein Treatment

Do you have problems with varicose veins or spider veins? If so, you are not alone and there are numerous vein treatment options available to you. Since varicose veins and spider veins are not considered life threatening, treatment is not always a priority. You may experience relief from your symptoms by wearing compression stockings and this may be satisfactory. Other treatments for varicose veins include surgery, ambulatory phlebectomy , ultrasound-guided sclerotherapy , bipolar radiofrequency , or a combination of these treatments.

Vein Treatments

Ambulatory phlebectomy - gets rid of varicose veins through a series of small punctures made in the skin adjacent to the vein, through which the varicose vein is removed in segments.

Ultrasound-guided sclerotherapy - is laser treatment that irritates the lining of the vessels - either by chemical injection or heat intense pulse light - causing them to swell and stick together and the blood to clot, then become scar tissue, which fades away.

Bipolar radiofrequency - a catheter is placed directly inside the vein wall and heat is used which causes the vessels to shrink, then collapse which closes the vein and eliminates leaking and/or reflux.

Risks and Discomforts

• Bruising

• Discoloration

• Inflammation

• Blood clots

• Perforation of the vein

• Breaking of the fiber inside the vein

Benefits

The greatest benefits that you will receive from these procedures are reducing not only the size, but completely closing the varicose veins that have been treated. You should see a great improvement in any symptoms that you've experienced because of your varicose veins. You should look for increased circulation and you will notice healthier better looking legs immediately.
